A beautiful vintage Circa 1950s-1960 Japanese "Mushi-Kago" (insect cage) paired with a detailed cast iron cricket figurine. These sets were cherished as symbols of luck and the changing seasons in Japanese culture.
The Cricket Figurine:
• Crafted from cast iron with a dark, textured patina.
• Marked "JAPAN" on the underside (see photos).
• Features realistic detailing on the legs and wings.
• Cage is Hand-constructed from fine bamboo slats with a solid wood base and top.
• Features a functional sliding door on one side.
• Retains the original red and silver "Made in Japan" foil sticker on the base.
The metal cricket is in excellent condition. The bamboo cage is structurally sound but is missing 3 slats (please refer to the photos). The missing slats are barely noticeable when displayed but are noted for accuracy. The sliding door moves freely.

The cricket will be wrapped separately from the cage to ensure the delicate bamb
