Vintage Handmade Southwestern Roadrunner McKusick Pottery Globe Miami Arizona Art Ceramics Square Plate
A beautiful 8.75" square plate of a Roadrunner done by the McKusick's of Globe Arizona.
The plate is hand incised on the back "Gila Arts Globe Miami Ariz" and a small M, possibly for McKusick. Bob and Charmion McKusick moved to Globe, Arizona in 1954 and started the McKusick Mosaic and Tile Company. They handmade and hand glazed tiles and ceramic art sculptures, often depicting animals from the Southwest region. The plate depicts an iconic roadrunner bird, dashing across the warm dessert sand.
In good vintage condition, some minor wear around the edges. Measures approx. 8.75"x8x75". Signed on the back.
