Mid-Century Modern Chalkware Parrot Wall Hanging

This fabulous chalkware wall hanging is from the mid-20th Century. It is made of plaster. It features recessed artwork, with tropical colors, and a black painted background. The piece features two brightly colored parrots resting on a branch. There are two leafy bundles, one above the parrots and one below. Additionally, there are some scratched patches near the tails of the parrots. I don’t think these are damage, because they have color—muted green, orange, and yellow. There is a hook on the back for hanging; there are some heavy duty staples on the back as well. There are paint chips around the rim of the parrots, as well as some chips on the wing of the parrot on the left. The outside edge if the oval is painted brown; much of that paint has faded away, leaving the plaster visible underneath. 11-1/4” x 5-5/8” x 1/2”. Wonderful piece!
