This is an Antique Vintage Intersoll Razor strop stropper.
This is a remarkable device.
Has its own container/cloth case for stropper and razor for protection. Made between 1900 and 1920. My husband’s grandfather who was born in 1873 was the one who owned it and used that device.
THE "INGERSOLL STROPPER" WAS USED TO SHARPEN RAZOR BLADES. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN USED WITH A REGULAR LEATHER STRAIGHT RAZOR STROP, WITH THE STROP BEING INSERTED INTO THE HEAD OF THE INGERSOLL TO MAKE CLOSE CONTACT WITH THE BLADE EDGES.
